Our activities are mainly in disaster-prone areas, climate change-affected areas.

 

   

JANASEBA SANGSAD SOCIETY is a locally led organization that has been working for the marginalized women, girls and displaced people of the society for a long time. Our activities are mainly conducted in the context of disaster-prone areas, climate change-affected areas and recent displacements (e.g. Rohingya crisis). 

a) Mission Statement / Vision: 

Janaseba Sangsad Society is to ensure the empowerment and participation of women in peace processes and humanitarian crises. We believe that women's leadership and participation are essential in peacebuilding and crisis management. Vision: An inclusive world where women and marginalized people participate equally in peacebuilding and disaster management, and their safety and rights are ensured.  

b) Level of work and location: 

Janaseba Sangsad Society works, especially in areas prone to conflict and humanitarian crises. Its levels of work include: • Local: Building the capacity of affected communities and women's leadership. • Sub-national: Building regional partnerships and networks. • National and international: policy formulation, funding distribution and coordination, especially working with refugee and displaced populations.  

c) Linkage between programmatic focus and proposal outcomes: 

The main programmatic focus of the Janaseba Sangsad Society is: • Women's leadership development and empowerment • Gender-based violence prevention and protection • Increasing women's participation in peacebuilding processes • Ensuring women's needs and rights in humanitarian response during disasters and conflicts These focuses are directly related to the proposed project's goals and outcomes, such as institutional capacity building, sustainable partnerships, and improved protection and empowerment of women at risk.  

d) Target Population: 

The Janaseba Sangsad Society specifically targets the following populations: • Women and adolescent girls (especially from vulnerable or conflict-affected areas) • Young men and women who are not getting leadership opportunities • Women and children with disabilities • Refugees, displaced persons and IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) • Intersectional groups who face different challenges based on gender, age, disability, ethnicity and economic status The Janaseba Sangsad Society adopts an intersectional approach to ensure inclusive development at all levels.
